My journey

I bring together over 30 years of experience as a Chartered Physiotherapist with a deeply embodied practice in qigong, breathwork, and mindful movement. My approach is grounded in both clinical understanding and lived experience, including navigating persistent pain, menopause, ADHD, and lifelong partial hearing loss. This combination allows me to offer a compassionate, inclusive, and evidence-informed practice tailored to your needs.

Whether you are seeking support with stress, persistent pain, or simply looking to feel more balanced, energised, and connected, my teaching provides a safe, supportive space where meaningful change can happen. Participants consistently report leaving sessions feeling lighter, calmer, and more connected to self and nature.

My Background

Qigong means working with your energy. I began exploring energy practices over ten years ago. Back then, it was considered a little “out there.” Today, science increasingly confirms: everything is energy, and where your attention goes, your energy flows.

My journey in brief:

  • First teacher: Sue Weston, who taught me that being a great teacher starts with the teacher

  • 2015: Completed first teacher training and began practising regularly for my own wellbeing

  • Lockdown: Reconnected via online classes, retreats, and mindfulness courses

  • COVID years: Entered menopause, experienced health challenges, sought alternative approaches

  • Began Holden Qigong Teacher Training — reflecting on: Where am I? Where do I want to go? What seeds do I want to plant?

Teaching highlights:

  • After qualifying in Holden Qigong in 2023, I began teaching small groups and initiated a collaboration with Claire at Journey’s in Nature, co-creating a distinctive offering that supports a profound and meaningful connection with nature.

  • Worked with John and Mary Platt, authors of The Five Elements of Qigong, deepening my connection between Qigong and nature

  • Led retreats in Cheshire and Merseyside

  • Currently studying Animal Qigong and pursuing Level 2 Teacher Training with Nick Loffree Bioenergetic Health

  • Training in breathwork: Oxygen Advantage & Breath and Body Therapy

  • Studied Qigong for the menopause with Daisy Lee

Professional background:

  • Chartered Physiotherapist for 30+ years, specialising in persistent pain also qualified Reflexologist, trained in acupuncture and Pilates.

  • Recently diagnosed with ADHD and partially deaf since birth, enhancing understanding of grounding practices

Research & Community Work:

  • Collaborated with University of Lancashire on a literature review of Qigong for fibromyalgia

  • Co-created 7-minute, 7-day Qigong Challenge

  • Presented at  Yoga Mind Body Conference University of Lancashire and World International Women’s Day
